How we build your website, from first call to launch
We build every website in seven steps: discovery, plan, design, development, SEO and AI-engine visibility, launch, and handover. At each step you see what we do, what we need from you, and what you receive. You always know where the project stands and what comes next.
The seven steps
Select a step to see what we do, what we need from you and what you receive.
Discovery
What we do: a first call and a short questionnaire. We learn what your company does, who your customers are, what the website must achieve, and what you already have (site, brand, content, domain, tools).
What we need from you: about an hour of the decision maker's time, your current website address, sites you like and dislike, your brand files
What you receive: a short written summary of what we understood, for you to correct
Plan
What we do: we list the pages, the structure, the goals of each page, the languages, the forms and the features. We note what content exists and what must be written. We agree the scope in writing.
What we need from you: decisions on scope, and a named person who approves work on your side
What you receive: a site plan (pages and structure), the scope, and the quotation with price and timeline
Design
What we do: we design the key pages (at least the home page and one inner page) in your colours and tone, for phone and computer. We adjust after your feedback.
What we need from you: brand assets (logo, colours, fonts) and feedback within the time agreed in the plan
What you receive: design previews to review and approve before the build; the number of revision rounds is stated in the quotation
Development
What we do: we build the approved design page by page, add your content, set up forms and test on common phones, tablets and browsers.
What we need from you: texts, images and other content, or a decision to have us write or adapt them, and answers to questions as they come up
What you receive: a working version to review on a private address before launch
SEO and AI-engine visibility
What we do: we set up page titles and descriptions, heading structure, structured data, sitemap, redirects from old addresses, image names and sizes, and the files that help AI assistants read the site. We check speed.
What we need from you: your target customers, regions and questions, and access to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools (or permission to create them)
What you receive: a list of what was set up and how to check it, with no ranking promise
Launch and deployment
What we do: we put the site live on the server you chose, connect your domain (DNS), set up HTTPS, test the live site and submit the sitemap to search engines.
What we need from you: your hosting decision, domain registrar access (or someone who can change DNS records), and server access if you host it
What you receive: a live website on your domain, over HTTPS, and a launch checklist
Handover and care
What we do: we hand over access and documentation, show you how to edit content, and explain what to check after launch. Care after launch is available on request, quoted separately.
What we need from you: someone on your side who will own the site day to day
What you receive: access details, written documentation and a walk-through
What keeps a project on time
One named approver
One person on your side approves work, agreed in the plan.
Content ready when the plan says
Texts and images arrive on the dates set in the plan, or you ask us to write or adapt them.
Feedback in the agreed window
Design and build reviews are answered within the time agreed in the plan.
Fast access to domain and server
Whoever manages your domain and server is available at launch.
Process: common questions
Do I need to have all my content ready before we start?
No. Content is planned in step 2. We can write or adapt texts for you, or work with texts you provide. Copywriting is quoted per project.
Can I see the site before it goes live?
Yes. In step 4 you review a working version on a private address, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
What if I already have a website?
We review it in discovery. Depending on what we find, we rebuild it or improve it, and we set up redirects so existing addresses keep working.
Who approves changes during the project?
One named person on your side, agreed in the plan. This keeps feedback clear and avoids contradicting requests.
Ready to start with step 1?
Tell us about your project and we will reply with questions or a quotation.
